If you only know Dick Ayers as one of the earlier Thor inkers (he inked the first Loki, Odin, Heimdall and Balder appearances) there is so much more to admire him for.

Mr. Ayers passed away Sunday. Barry Pearl, a humble historian and friend to Mr.Ayers, posted an informative tribute
