ON THE SPINNER RACKS 57 YEARS AGO TODAY

The only new Thor appearance that shipped October 1966 was his 12th of the year.

Besides fighting the Man-Beast in the 16 page lead story, Thor also encounters the High Evolutionary and his Knights of Wundagore
And if that wasn't enough, in the 5 page Tales of Asgard back-up Thor battles a dragon. The entire issue and the cover were drawn by Jack Kirby and embellished by Vince Colletta.

    My personal favorite penciler/inker combination was Jack Kirby and Vince Colletta in the THOR and Tales of Asgard stories.
