Thor's 8th Marvel appearance. Like his previous appearances, it was in JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY and had a Jack Kirby cover. It was the 5th cover embellished by Dick Ayers.

That was Kirby & Ayers only contribution to the issue.

Carbon-Copy Man's 1st appearance. His 2nd would be 25 years later in X-FACTOR.

Jack Kirby composed cover art for 9 of the 11 comics released by Marvel the 1st month of 1964.

Kirby was responsible for the 25 covers Thor had appeared on since his debut.

 Thor's 75th appearance.

The Marvel Age of Comparative Mythology continued with the 4th appearance of  Hercules. Herc debuted in JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY ANNUAL #1 eight months earlier.

 

What the cover promises 13 of the 16 pages of the main story deliver - Thor and Hercules fighting over Nurse Foster (her 40th appearance)

Kirby/Colletta art, Thor battling a worthy opponent, the Rainbow Bridge, Asgard, angry Odin (his 35th appearance) and Balder (his 15th appearance).

Plus Loki (31st appearance) & Thor continue a quest in the Tales of Asgard 5-pager.

Doctor Don Blake does not appear in this issue

Asgard Tourist Season (Jack Kirby 1967)

Thor first appeared in comics 22 years before his Marvel incarnation.

 

His series debuted in Weird Comics #1 (1940) and lasted five issues.
