ON THE SPINNER RACKS June/July 1964

What a great time to be a Thor fan. Not only did he appear in
with a cover and 23 pages of art by Jack Kirby - plus the first appearance of a rare non-Asgardian addition to Thor's Rogues Gallery, the Grey Gargoyle.

Thor also appeared in
with a cover and 22 pages of art by Jack Kirby - plus the 3rd appearances of  Thor's Asgardian Rogues Gallery members, Amora and Skurge.

This brought Thor's 1964 appearances up to 14. Thor appeared in more 1964 comics than any other year in the 'Sixties.

ON THE SPINNER RACKS JUNE/JULY 1967

The first Marvel comic I ever bought was fighting for attention on the nation's spinner racks.
Stan Lee prided himself on making sure that every comic he worked on was a good jumping on point for new readers. He certainly succeeded with THOR #143. Of course, the Kirby cover had to get my attention first!

Thor's 8th appearance of 1967. His 96th appearance of all time.
Balder's 2nd appearance of 1967. His 22nd appearance of all time.
Sif's 5th appearance of 1967. Her 8th appearance of all time.
Sif's 2nd cover appearance of 1967 and of all time.
Plus the epic introduction of the three Enchanters.
The issue was so good that I didn't even mind that both the lead story and the Tales of Asgard back-up were continued stories
