If you only know Dick Ayers as one of the earlier Thor inkers (he inked the first Loki, Odin, Heimdall and Balder appearances) there is so much more to admire him for.
Mr. Ayers passed away Sunday. Barry Pearl, a humble historian and friend to Mr.Ayers, posted an informative tribute

Congratulations to Ive Svorcina for being nominated for a 2014 Eisner Award in the "Best Painter/Multimedia Artist(interior art)" category for his work on THOR GOD OF THUNDER.
For those of you that are not semantically sophisticated enough to
comprehend Eisner Award terminology "Best Painter/Multimedia Artist" = Colorist.
Svorcina's collaborator, Ron Garney, was not deemed worthy of such rarified
recognition by his peers.
